Los Lunas Veterans Day Blue Star Salute.
The DVS Los Lunas Field Office has partnered with the Village of Los Lunas, the American Legion and the Valencia County Blue Star Mothers to host a Blue Star Salute. This is a three part event; 1-Proclamations read, Dignitary Speeches; Dep Secretary Thergood will represent NMDVS, other dignitaries invited include Congressman S. Pearce, State Senator M. Sanchez, State Representative E. Barela and the Mayors of Los Lunas, Belen, Peralta, Bosque Farms and the Governor of Pueblo of Isleta. 2- Essay Contest for the students of Valencia County Schools. One winner from each school level Elementary, Middle and High School will be selected. 3-Blue Star Banners w/certificates will be presented to the mothers and /or spouse of active duty military personnel. Service members will also be given a certificate of appreciation for their service. The event will be held at the Daniel Fernandez Memorial Park 1001 Hwy 314 Los Lunas and will begin at 11:00 am.

Las Cruces Veterans Day Parade
8am-12pm. Route: from District Court Parking Lot at Main/Picacho to Loretta Town Square, southbound along Church Street. NM DVS Veteran Service Officer JR Turner is on Parade Committee is one of two emcees. JR will be reading Governor Proclamation to start parade and announcing entries as they go by the reviewing stand at City Hall. After parade reception at American Legion Post 10. Marines and their spouses are invited to celebrate the Corps' 232nd birthday at a dinner and ball at 6 p.m. on Saturday, November 10th at The Red Barn restaurant. The featured speaker and guest of honor at the celebration will be John Kinsel Jr., a Navajo Code Talker from World War II. Santa Fe Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony
The Third Annual Santa Fe Veterans Day parade will take place on Veteran’s Day, Sunday, November 11. The parade will begin at the Masonic Lodge at 431 Paseo de Peralta, make its way around the Plaza and end at the Bataan Memorial Building where the Veterans Day Ceremony will take place. The VFW is organizing the post parade ceremony at the Veterans Memorial Monument. The key note address will be delivered by Army Reserve Captain A.J. Salazar who has recently completed two tours of duty in Iraq. The 21 gun salute, the Fly Over and Taps have been scheduled. Governor Richardson, Senators Bingaman, Senator Domenici, Congressman Udall and Congresswoman Wilson have all been invited. Once again, City Staff and VFW personnel will make this an event worthy of the 13,000 veterans who live in Santa Fe County and all New Mexico veterans. The Santa Fe Police Department will provide parade support. The Fire Department will also provide parade support as well as having fire fighting vehicles and personnel in the parade. We will also have open air vehicles available for elder veterans who would like to ride in the Parade.If you are planning to participate in the parade, please RSVP to Therese Prada at 955-6041 or tmprada@santafenm.gov by November 1. Angel Fire Veterans Day at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial State Park.
11am. Theme is "New Beginnings Transformation and Change. Join us in celebration and dedication of the new amphitheater. Hosted by the Vietnam Veterans Memorial State Park, the David westphall Veterans Foundation and Vietnam Veterans of America #318, Albuquerque. 24 miles east of Taos on highway 64 in Angel Fire, NM. The Pueblo of Isleta American Legion Post 209 Veterans Day Event
12 pm. Taking place in the Ranchitos section of the pueblo (Tribal Road 7 off of Hwy 47 south of Isleta Casino & Resort). Activities include dedication of the Ranchitos Park in memory of deceased WWII veteran Jose Manuel Valdez. NM DVS VSO Sardo Sanchez will be speaking and reading the Governor's proclamation. Hobbs Veterans Day Parade.
Veterans Service Officer Dalton Boyd will be at the Veterans Day Parade and the gathering at the VFW following the Parade from 8:00am to 1:00pm. All veterans and their spouses, widows of deceased veterans and their children are encouraged to stop by and visit with your State of New Mexico Department of Veterans Services representative.

Carlsbad Veterans Day Parade.
The parade begins at 9:00 a.m. and will go down Canyon and Church Streets. Immediately following the parade there will be a ceremony at Beach Park Memorial. Rio Rancho High School Veterans Day Ceremony.
Veteran Service Officer Joseph N. Balistreri will be at this special Veterans Day Ceremony taking place from 1 to 2 pm at 301 Loma Colorado, Rio Rancho, NM.

Fort Bayard National Cemetery-Fort Bayard
Drew DixVeterans Day ceremonies will take place at 10:00 A.M at the Fort Bayard National Cemetery. In case of inclement weather, they will be held at the National Guard Armory in Santa Clara. Featured speaker will be Drew Dix, a Medal of Honor recipient (Vietnam). Paul Montoya, American Legion Post 18 Commander, will serve as master of ceremonies. Also participating will be the Vietnam Veterans Color Guard and the American Legion Honor Guard. Those attending are asked to bring their own chairs.
