8/1–Free Benefits Fair for Veterans, Guard/Reserve/Active-Duty Personnel (Silver City) (8am-9:30am) (Student Memorial Building, Western New Mexico University/1000 West College Ave.--Military Veterans, Guard/Reserve Members, and transitioning active-duty military personnel can learn about the many federal and state benefits available for them and their families at a Veterans’ Benefits Fair in Silver City on August 1 from 9am-2pm in the Student Memorial Building on the campus of Western New Mexico University. 6/13–Flag Day to be Celebrated in Santa Fe (9am)(Downtown Santa Fe)(Santa Fe Veterans Memorial) Honoring and celebrating Old Glory and all that she stands for will once again be the theme of the colorful Annual Massing of the Colors/Flag Day Ceremony in Santa Fe. 5/30–Veterans’ Benefits Fair (9am-3pm)(Las Vegas, NM)(Abe Montoya Recreation Center Gymnasium/1751 North Grand Ave.) Federal, state and local agencies will be on hand with information about benefits and services available for veterans and their families. (Click here for more information)

 
5/25 - Memorial Day to be Celebrated in Communities Statewide

NMDVS Secretary Jack Fox is scheduled to speak at the annual Memorial Day Ceremony in Angel Fire at the Vietnam Veterans State Memorial Park Amphitheater.  NMDVS Deputy Secretary Alan Martinez is scheduled to speak at the annual ceremony at the Ft. Stanton Cemetery. NMDVS Field Services Director Ken Adair is scheduled to speak at the annual ceremony in Bernalillo at the town’s Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

The New Mexico Department of Veterans’ Services urges New Mexicans to attend a ceremony to honor the men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving and defending our country as members of the United States Armed Forces.

3/20–2015 New Mexico Veterans Business Conference (8am-5pm)(Albuquerque)(Sheraton  Albuquerque Uptown Hotel/2600 Louisiana Blvd. NE)-Veterans and transitioning military personnel who own or are thinking of owning a business are invited to attend this comprehensive, day-long conference focusing on the how to start and run a small business. 2/25–Military & Veterans Day at the Legislature (12 noon-1pm)(Santa Fe/State Capitol Rotunda)-The service and sacrifice of our active-duty service members and veterans will be highlighted and honored at the annual day during the Legislature set aside for our military community.  Special recognition will focus this year on World War II veterans and the New Mexico Civil Air Patrol.
